From the moment the Rhone Retreat’s wrought-iron gates rolled open, I knew my stay would be a remarkable adventure! As I gazed at the stately main house, the stone pathways that meandered over to vine-covered guest bungalows, and the azure blue water of a serene outdoor pool, I was struck by the realization that I had just stepped into a small corner of paradise. The beauty of the Rhone Retreat’s buildings and grounds is surpassed only by the genuine warmth and gracious hospitality of its proprietor, Ken Jourdan. Accommodations reflect Ken’s singular focus on the comfort of his guests and provide every modern amenity. Meals are taken around Ken’s long dining table in the main house, offering guests an opportunity for relaxed conversation as they sample the best in local cuisine and wine. Not sure what to see and do? Ken might suggest an open-air market filled with fragrant soaps, glistening olives, and pungent garlic. Or a quiet walk through Roman ruins and medieval churches. Or a tour of one of the many vineyards that dot the rolling countryside accompanied by a taste of the region’s legendary Cotes du Rhone wines. Ken is eager to share his knowledge, and his love, of everything this corner of France can offer. He will make sure that you never want to leave and that you will always want to go back. Enjoy!

The Rhone retreat is an ideal vacation spot. If you have dreamed of finding a charming village, in the middle of wine country and having a true french experience this is the place. The Rhone retreat offers wonderful accomadations for couples, families and friends traveling together. Each space is graciously appointed with furnishings to make your stay restful and relaxing. The gardens allow for private spots to enjoy the outdoors, relax by the pool, dine al fresco and spend an evening sipping wine and enjoying the stars. The village is a great experience of real people doing real things. It's small and charming, and offers a wonderful restaurant within walking distance; just be sure to make your reservations well in advance. Also, a local vineyard is across the street which offers delightful wine to enjoy during your stay. Within driving distance, you will find historic ruins, fields of sunflowers and lavender, great shopping at the many marches located in the various nearby villages. It's very convenient for day trips to the Luberon or to Avignon and Arles. Ken is a gracious host. He is very charming and will guide you to all the best places. As a trained massage therapist, make sure to include a massage as part of your stay, it will leave your soul feeling refreshed and relaxed. He is also wonderful cook! Take the opportunity to venture out to the marche with him and select fresh ingredients for lunch and a take a cooking lesson with him. My husband and I, along with our family and friends have been several times to stay over the years. We totally recommend Rhone Retreat for those who want to venture off the tourist path and find a charming slice of true french day to day life, in a beautiful setting.

Can't say enough about this wonderful property and Ken's generous hosting. We went two years in a row with family and friends from Canada, UK and NZ. The location is exquisite, the grounds are glorious and Ken is a great masseur among his other talents. He cooked for us on a couple of occasions and was also our travel director for the region. The days out exploring were counterbalanced with preparing meals with the fresh produce we got from the nearby markets and then relaxing around the pool. Almost don't want to share this review as we want it still to be available! Highly recommended.
